I never had an experience
to be taught by a blind teacher in the past and therefore I would say that Mr.
Taufiq Effendi is the first blind teacher who teach me in the class. I thought
that it would be so impressive to have him as my lecturer and I wondered how
his teaching method is.
I really love the way Mr.
Taufiq teaches us in the class. Although he can’t clearly see (of course, each
of us has our own imperfection), he is able to teach his lesson particularly
good. In the class, he usually starts the lesson by giving us the theory that
he has. After that, he will ask the students to perform the theory (basically,
teaching methods and techniques) in front of the class by dividing the students
up into some groups, most likely 4 to 5 groups. Perhaps it sounds like an
acting class. Indeed it does. By doing that performance, it helps the students
to express and enjoy themselves as if one of each group becomes the teacher and
the rest of them will be the students. Each group’s performance will be
different to the others, that’s the uniqueness which sometimes makes us laugh
and creates fun atmosphere in class however still being conducive.
Personally, Mr. Taufiq
looks just like the other lecturers, but let me tell you… he is a superb
lecturer! His imperfection doesn’t limit him to do everything that we normally
do which is really awesome. He can operate his laptop and phone by using voice
detection app on his devices. The difference that I can compare to the other
lecturers is absolutely his teaching method and technique. It feels like
playing games, so it doesn’t make us bored or stressed out at all. He is an
extremely humble, nice and entertaining person as well.
He is inspiring me to be
the best version of myself. Alhamdulillahirabbil ‘alamiin, all praise to Allah
SWT… I give thanks to Him to have Mr. Taufiq as my lecturer. Mr. Taufiq
implicitly shows me to be grateful for every single thing I have. I hope that I
can pursue my life goals just like the way he does. Honestly, I don’t find any
bad things from him. May The Almighty One always bless him and his family,
Aamiin…
